States like Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Sikkim, and Nagaland have made it illegal for any of their citizens to play online games that involve the exchange of money. There is no distinction between games of skill or games of chance as directed by the Supreme Court of India and so an effective blanket ban on all online gaming has been put.
